Edith Madeline Power was buried in Notre-Dame Cemetery, section 39, lot 353. According to the Nova Scotia marriage record, Edith Madeline Donahoe (daughter of James E Donahoe and Rebecca Duggan) married Edward Francis Power in St Mary's Cathedral, Halifax, 2 September 1931. According to the Nova Scotia delayed registration of birth, Edith Madeline Donahoe (daughter of James Edward Donahoe, merchant, and Rebecca M Duggan) was born in Halifax, 31 January 1906.

POWER, Edith Madeline Peacefully, surrounded by family, at Stillwater Creek Retirement Community on Thursday, April 26, 2007, Edith Madeline Power at the age of 101 years. Daughter of the late James Edward Donahoe and Rebecca Margaret Mary (Duggan) of Halifax, Nova Scotia. Beloved wife of the late Edward Francis (Frank) Power. Dear mother of Jim (Anne), Clare (Jim Dashney), Oakville, Doug (Sheila), Denis (Louise), Frank (Pat), Roger, John (Fran), Stephen, and Ray (Cathy). Predeceased by: her son Thomas, grandson Jimmy Dashney and great-grandson Brayden Ferris, sisters Mary Miller, Sister Agnes Donahoe r.s.c.j., Margaret Hanrahan, Geraldine Curran, Muriel Duxbury and brothers Edward, Robert, Richard, Frank and infant brother John of Halifax. Survived by 23 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Friends may visit at McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home, 1411 Hunt Club Road on Saturday, April 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Sunday , April 29 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment Notre Dame Cemetery. Sincere thanks are extended to the caring and professional nursing and support staff of Stillwater Creek Retirement Community, to Dr. Miller and the staff of the Queensway Carleton Hospital, and to the staff of CCAC for their support and care. Memorial donations to Birthright Ottawa, 302-200 Isabella Street or to the Good Companions Seniors' Club, 670 Albert Street would be appreciated by the family. Condolences may be sent to www.mem.com
