The Wikipedia article has great information on the geology if the region, as the walk to the peak has none! (visit link)
* One corner of the Orientation Table on the summit reads:
"A fiery past
Wollumbin Mount Warning was once the fiery heart of a volcano that erupted over 20 million years ago. This massive volcano was more than twice as high as the present mountain and spread lava over thousands of square kilometres."

* The Wikipedia article describes how Mount Warning is the remnant of a 'Shield Volcano', and the Tweed Valley around it is intricately linked to its geological history.

* The Bundjalung indigenous people of the area do request that others do not attempt to climb Mt Warning, and while Wollumbin National Park rangers do advertise that request, "it is not expressly forbidden by park regulations".

* It records the first European's record of seeing the sharp peak - Captain Cook in 1770.

* It is a part of the UN World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia. (visit link)

* The article summarises and emphasises the fact that it is a 8.8 km return walk, and to expect to take a minimum of 1½ hours one way - 4.4 km, but to allow 3½ for the climb up from Breakfast Creek.
