Arthur was born 2 April, 1900, and died 15 April, 2001.
The black marble headstone for Arthur, and his wife, sits on a gray marble base, atop a concrete slab.

His headstone reads:
"In Loving Memory Of
Much loved Husband and Father
Arthur Bakewell
Born England 2.4.1900
Passed Away 15.4.2001
Aged 101 Years
Rest In Peace"

Beside which reads the inscription for his wife:
"Much Loved Wife and Mother
Emily Muriel Bakewell
Born 14.5.1914
Passed Away 29.4.2010
Aged 95 Years"

Arthur would have been too young to volunteer for most of the First World War, and probably not able to volunteer by the time of the Second World War.
He would have seen quite a change in the Manning Valley if he lived here (at least from the 1920's) as the only access to Wingham from The Bight was with a punt where the current bridge sits 6 metres above the Manning River. Dairying was the predominant industry of the river flats near here, with timber getting in the nearby hills.
Location of Headstone: Roadside cemetery
