The ten flags fly eleven storeys above the surrounding terrain. In the wind at that height, the flags are almost always unfurled. However, at that height, photography is a challenge even if the flags are easily seen from the highway.
William's Court is northeast of the intersection of Great Lakes Avenue and Maritime Way. The street names in this community suggest a Canadian theme and the flags add to this feeling.
In the national capital region, many displays of the flags of Canada consist of fourteen flags: one national flag, ten provincial flags and three territorial flags. This somewhat different display consists of only ten flags, only the provincial flags. From left to right, the flags suggest a geographic (east to west) rather than chronological orientation: Newfoundland and Labrador, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Québec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia. This ten-flag display is common across the rest of the country.
Posted co-ordinates are away from the building so that the roof-top flags can be seen.
