[EN] Gushing from a cavern 60 m wide and 30 m high dug in a wall overhanging over 100 in height, the source of the Loue is nothing but a majestic resurgence of the Doubs.
This resurgence was discovered in 1901, after the Pernod de Pontarlier factory was struck by lightning. A few days after the Doubs, it was the Loue which assumed a green color, and perfumed itself with absinthe.
It is one of the major natural sites of the Doubs, laid out and decorated with didactic panels to better understand the natural spectacle that is offered to the gaze.
From the source, the trail allows to descend the deep gorges of the Loue, left bank, and reach the electrical factory and then the village of Mouthier-Haute-Pierre (about 6km - 2h).
