L'Île Noire est le septième album de la série de bande dessinée Les Aventures de Tintin, créé par le dessinateur belge Hergé. Il a été initialement publié en feuilleton dans Le Petit Vingtième, supplément de l'hebdomadaire Le Vingtième Siècle, du 15 avril 1937 au 16 juin 1938, puis en album la même année par Casterman. Une première version en couleurs est parue en 1943, puis une seconde — la version actuelle — en 1961.
Dans l'édition de 1966, Hergé redessina entièrement l'album à la demande des éditeurs anglais qui jugeaient la représentation de la Grande-Bretagne non conforme à la réalité. Alors que les scènes et les dialogues restent identiques les décors et accessoires ont éte enrichis tant au niveau des détails ajoutés que de la modernisation de l'ensemble des objets (remplaçant par exemple la locomotive à vapeur par une machine diésel-électrique, ou une pompe à bras par un camion pompe). On peut y trouver un certain déséquilibre entre le dessin moderne et Tintin qui est toujours celui des années 1930... De fait, L'Île Noire est le seul album de la série qui ait connu trois versions différentes.

Le château dominant l'île aurait été quant à lui inspiré soit par l'île d'Or dans le Var, soit par le Vieux-château de l'Île d'Yeu, soit par le château écossais de Lochranza.
L'Île Noire is the seventh album of the comic series The Adventures of Tintin, created by the Belgian designer Hergé. It was originally published serialized in Le Petit Vingtième, supplement of the weekly Le Vingtième Siècle, from April 15, 1937 to June 16, 1938, then in album the same year by Casterman. A first color version appeared in 1943, then a second version - the current version - in 1961.
In the 1966 edition, Hergé completely redesigned the album at the request of the English publishers who judged Britain's representation to be inconsistent with reality. While the scenes and dialogues remain identical, the decors and accessories have been enriched both in terms of added detail and the modernization of all objects (replacing, for example, the steam locomotive with a diesel-electric machine or a pump By a truck pump). One can find there a certain imbalance between the modern drawing and Tintin which is always that of the years 1930 ... In fact, The Black Island is the only album of the series which knew three different versions.
The lighthouse on the Île Noire in the bay of Morlaix (Finistère), opposite the castle of the Taurus, inspired the creator of Tintin during his stay in Locquénolé.
The castle overlooking the island would have been inspired either by the Ile d'Or in the Var, or by the old castle of Île d'Yeu, or by the Scottish castle of Lochranza.
