This Lighthouse is located on the east coast of the Island at Maughold Head.

This lighthouse was first established in 1914.
The lighthouse tower is 23 metres high (77ft) and a circular design. Today the tower is painted white with no bands.
The light gives 3 white flashes every 30 secs and has a range of 21 nautical miles.
The Admiralty Reference for the Lighthouse is A4786.
The Northern Lighthouse Board is today responsible for the operation and maintenance of the automated light. The Lighthouse was automated in 1993.
On 7 November 2016 the Northern Lighthouse Board isssued the following notice to Mariners:

Mariners are advised that, on or about 25 NOVEMBER 2016, the existing light will be withdrawn and replaced by a TEMPORARY LIGHT with the undernoted characteristics:

A further Notice to Mariners will be issued prior to the re-establishment of a permanent light in early 2017.
