This cemetery, alternatively known as Sugar Mound or Daniels (the oldest record grave is of a Rachel Daniels) or Cherokee, is just down the road from the Matoaka Baptist Church. However, it does not appear to have been intended as a churchyard cemetery, since there are a couple of properties between the church and the cemetery.
At the time of this waymark posting there were only 4 graves missing dates (unusually low number), with the oldest being the aforementioned 1880 grave of Rachel Daniels, and the latest being just about 7 months before this waymark posting.
