This cream separator was made by the Swedish Separator Co. Limited, based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Based on an old sales book (
visit link) for Viking cream separators, the Swedish Separator Company went into business in 1915 or earlier.
Although the manufacturer's plate on the separator is rusty and worn, it appears to list the model number as Viking Model AE 65C. It also includes the following information: CSA App. No 5915? or 5916? Unfortunately, it does not list the manufacture date of the cream separator.
This cream separator has a holding tank on which the separator rests, rather than being mounted on an iron stand. It has a large hopper on top, as well as two spigots located on lower portions of the device.
The machine is bolted down into the concrete walkway in front of the restaurant. This machine has been on display here since the restaurant opened several years ago. Since the machine is located outside, it can be visited 24/7.
