The Renaissance chateau was rebuilt from a medieval Gothic castle of the French type, as can be seen from the massive tower, in the end of the 16th century by a noble family Vostrovec of Královice (Vostrovcové z Královic). During the 18th and 19th century, during the ownership of Princes of Auersperg (1744-1945), the chateau was enlarged and partially reshaped in Empire style. From this time originates the vast and unique English park with romantic pavillons and also three neo-Gothic entrance gates with CoAs of the former owners. The chateau, opened for public and owned by the state, offers to visitors display focused mainly on the Vlašim region. There is also a unique exhibition of hunting and sports guns.
