The Tufa Bridge was built in 1908 by the City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works and engineered by George W. Burke. The bridge is an concrete reinforced arch bridge that is covered with Tufa. Tufa is a cryptocrystalline calcium carbonate from Ohio. The bridge is located on the Panther Hollow Trail and passes over Phipps Run.
