DE: Am 7.9.1749 ist nachts Catharina Meisgen (Meisges) von ihrem Mann erbärmlich ermordet worden. Ein Erinnerungskreuz (Mordkreuz) wurde nach dem II.Weltkrieg gestohlen und von Pfarrer Heinz Höngesberg in Köln-Dünnwald wieder entdeckt. Im März 1990 wurde das Mordkreuz nach Restaurierung an der Meindorfer Allee aufgestellt. (Geschichtsverein Troisdorf)
Das Kreuz trägt eine Inschrift, die an die Tat erinnern, und auf dem Kreuzstamm eine plastisch herausgearbeitete Frauenfigur, vermutlich die Jungfrau Maria. Der Fuß des Kreuzes ist nicht original. Die Inschrift läuft um die Marienfigur herum und ist im unteren Teil nur schwer zu entziffern:

EN: On 7.9.1749 Catharina Meisgen (Meisges) was miserably murdered by her husband. A memorial cross (murder cross) was stolen after the Second World War and rediscovered by Pastor Heinz Höngesberg in Cologne-Dünnwald. In March 1990, the murder cross was restarted at Meindorfer Allee after restoration. (History Association Troisdorf)
The cross bears an inscription that reminds of the act, and on the cross-stem a sculptured female figure, presumably the Virgin Mary. The foot of the cross is not original. The inscription runs around the figure of the Virgin and is difficult to decipher in the lower part:
