Immer mehr Besucher pilgern zu diesen Stätten und Denkmälern. Sie stehen häufig ratlos vor den Ansammlungen gigantischer Monumente der Bildhauer- und Steinmetzkunst, aber zugleich auch fasziniert.
Warum gibt es seit fast 50 Jahren gerade in Beuel am Platanenweg die wohl aufwendigsten Grabmonumente in der Andeutung von Mausoleen? Eine mögliche Antwort führt zu Pützchens Markt. Im Vorfeld der rheinischen Großkirmes treffen sich seit vielen Jahrzehnten die im Volksmund immer noch so genannten „Zigeunersippen" auf ihren Landfahrerplätzen. Aus der mehr als 600-jährigen Chronik von Pützchens Markt weiß man aber auch, dass die Landfahrer damals zum Marktgeschehen mit verschiedenen Darbietungen zum Inventar gehörten. Wobei der traditionelle „Zigeunerball“ bei „Traudchen Weber“ den Abschluss der rheinischen Großkirmes bildete. So dürfte bis zum heutigen Tag Verbindung und Tradition mit Pützchens Markt erhalten sein.
