1927 - Lon Chaney's "London After Midnight" premieres. It is today one of the most sought of the lost silent films.
1937 - QDV's home state of Michigan observes its centennial.
1947 - Jackie Robinson breaks the color barrier in Major League Baseball.
1957 - John Lennon and Paul McCartney meet for the first time. They'll be making beautiful music together in just a few years.
1967 - American Nazi Party leader George Lincoln Rockwell is assassinated.
1977 - They finally catch the one-armed man on ABC's "The Fugitive."
