Located on Spanish Main Street, south of Cannonade Boulevard, this marker notes the overall Battle of Spanish Fort and the forts' role in holding the Union forces at bay.

Highest point along 2 miles of Confederate battle lines extending east and north. Here 200 soldiers from Georgia, Louisiana & Arkansas, held off a numerically superior Union Force for thirteen days and nights in the last battle of the War Between the States. April 1865.
