La Loire est le dernier fleuve sauvage de France et abrite nombre d’espèces d’oiseaux. Le but de cette exposition est de sensibiliser les riverains du fleuve à la richesse et à la beauté de l’avifaune ligérienne. Pêche, toilettage, parade amoureuse, accouplement, nourrissage des poussins… vous entrerez dans l’intimité des oiseaux sous les belles lumières de la vallée de la Loire. En période d’étiage, le fleuve offre aux oiseaux migrateurs de nombreuses îles sablonneuses. Certaines espèces y font une halte migratoire mais d’autres s’y arrêtent pour nicher. Les sternes naines et pierregarins sont les plus emblématiques mais la mouette rieuse, la mouette mélanocéphale et le petit gravelot nidifient aussi sur les îles et les bancs de sable. Les oiseaux arrivent dès la fin mars et se rassemblent en colonies bruyantes. Les parades et les accouplements s’enchaînent au printemps, les premières éclosions ont lieu chez les mouettes puis c’est au tour des poussins des sternes de voir le jour en juin et juillet. Balbuzard pêcheur, chevalier aboyeur, petit gravelot et martin pêcheur font également partie du paysage ligérien.
The Loire is the last wild river in France and is home to many species of birds. The purpose of this exhibition is to sensitize the residents of the river to the richness and beauty of the avifauna of the Loire. Fishing, grooming, love parade, mating, feeding chicks ... you will enter the intimacy of birds under the beautiful lights of the Loire Valley. During low water periods, the river offers migratory birds to many sandy islands. Some species migrate there, but others stop there to nest. The dwarf and common terns are the most emblematic but the laughing gull, the melanocephalic gull and the small plover also nest on the islands and sandbanks. The birds arrive at the end of March and gather in noisy colonies. Parades and matings take place in spring, the first outbreaks take place in the gulls and then it is the turn of the tern chicks to see the day in June and July. Osprey, bark knight, small plover and kingfisher are also part of the landscape of the Loire.
