The memorial is a stone obelisk with a Latin cross in relief on the front face. The sculptor was Mr Francis Clare. Beneath the cross engraved into the stone are the dates:

1939
1945
On the plinth beneath the obelisk there is a brass plaque that has the inscription:
This Memorial was presented by the Kidsgrove- Talke and District Branch, of the Royal British Legion in 1977.
