In Amherst, on the campus of Amherst College, is this memorial for student and faculty of Amherst College who were veterans of World War I and II.

Amherst College is located in the center of Amherst, southeast of the town common. The memorial is located south of the main quad. Nearby is the statue of Robert Frost, looking to the quad.

The memorial is a plaza that includes a stairway, a cylindrical centerpiece, other markers on both sides, and an exit to the athletic field, Memorial Field. The stairs have the following words engraved in them:

"Memorial Field is Dedicated by the Alumni to the Amherst men who in two great wars gallantly responded to their country's call"

The cylindrical piece in the center has compass points for the four cardinal points and stars along the circle edge between them. There is an arrow between north and south. On the north side is "Pro Patia." On the south side is the following: "Anno Domini MCMXLVI Collegi CXXV" (I think the later year marks the years the college has existed at that time - 125). At the center is the college logo. Between the cardinal points and the logo are the names of people, arranged in circles around the logo and separated by war served.

The markers on either side have engravings of the names of battles in the wars.
