The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places. Only foot and bicycle traffic are allowed on the bridge. It will be part of the greenway from Binghamton to the University of Binghamton.

Washington Street Parabolic Bridge is a lenticular truss bridge of three spans.

text:"1886 Built by the Berlin Bridge Co. East Berlin Conn. Douglas & Jarvis Pat Apl.16 1878 & Apl.7 1885. Geo. A. Thayer, Dudley T. Finch, commissioners B. M. Babcock, S.E. Monroe, Engineer in charge."
