As part of the original Expo Line, the 29th Avenue Station opened to the public on December 11, 1985 linking Downtown Vancouver to Downtown New Westminster. Since in 1985 most stations have been a cluster of highrise residential towers, but this remains a single family house neighbourhood. And 29th Avenue Station is also a significant feature of Slocan Park as it forms part of the park's boundaries. In 2011 some 13,905 people used this station each day.
