Here we have one of three old horse drawn wagons hidden away in the bowels of the town of Drummond.

Staffed by 24 volunteer firefighters and 4 non firefighting volunteers, the Valley Fire Department in Drummond is housed in a pair of buildings, one of which was donated by the Flint Creek Valley Bank of Drummond. We suspect it may once have been a bank. Adjacent is a newer building with two overhead doors, the other half of the fire department.
Tucked between the two buildings are three wheeled wagons, this freight wagon and a pair of tank wagons, one once in the employ of the Drummond Volunteer Fire Department.
We're calling this a freight wagon, though given that Drummond was in an agricultural area, it was just as likely to have been a farm wagon. In either case it wasn't intended to haul large loads, whether they be grain or freight. The more I look at it, the more I lean toward its having been a farm wagon as it appears to have an opening tailgate, a necessity for hauling bulk grain, not so much so for hauling sacked grain.
The wagon appears to be in original, unrestored condition, though a bit of paint has been added in recent years.
