Located at what's known as Lakeview Commmons are a couple of plaques, one of which highlights a community project done in 2012 and dedicated to the general public to be able to enjoy this small area of land at South Lake Tahoe. The plaque reads:

Lakeview Commons
AT
EL DORADO BEACH

ON JUNE 20, 2012, LAKEVIEW COMMONS WAS DEDICATED TO THE PUBLIC FOR THEIR USE, RECREATION AND ENJOYMENT OF THE SURROUNDINGS AND THE INCOMPARABLE VIEW OF LAKE TAHOE. THE PROJECT WAS MADE MADE POSSIBLE BY THE FAMILIES AND FRIENDS THAT PROVIDED THIS LAND TO EL DORADO COUNTY MANY YEARS AGO, THE CALIFORNIA VOTERS WHO PASSED PROPOSITION 84, THE 2006 PARKS AND WATER BOND ACT, THAT FUNDED THE MAJORITY OF THE COSTS OF THIS PROJECT AND BY THE ELECTED AND APPOINTED OFFICIALS LISTED BELOW WHO SUPPORTED LAKEVIEW COMMONS AND WORKED TIRELESSLY TO ENSURE THE COMPLETION OF THIS PROJECT. WE ARE THANKFUL TO ALL WHO MADE THIS PROJECT POSSIBLE AND KNOW THE PUBLIC WILL ENJOY THE LAKE VIEWS, THE SENSE OF PEACE AND THE COMMONALITY OF OUR HUMAN SPIRITS BY WELCOMING ALL WHO COME HERE.
