Have a great hike on this wooden path and visit this nice pergola.
"The Kealia Coastal Boardwalk is a beautiful tranquil walkway and bird sanctuary, beside Maalaea Bay, in the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge, on the south edge of Maui’s central valley. It’s on the south side of North Kihei Road (Route 31).
This modern boardwalk through ancient wetlands allows you to see the home of many native and visiting birds. Two of Hawaii’s native and endangered waterbirds here are the Hawaiian Coot and Hawaiian Stilt. Across the highway you can see Kealia Pond where waterfowl from Asia and North America come for food and rest and warmer climate, including mallards, scaups, wigeons, and other duck species. The Pacific golden plover migrates from Alaska, and other birds that come for the winter are wandering tattler, bristle-thighed curlew, and ruddy turnstone.
From here you can see both Haleakala and the West Maui Mountains. You can even spot the line of windmills on the ridge at the top of West Maui. If you’ve got binoculars, bring them along for birdspotting. This boardwalk is a peaceful quiet place for both kids and adults to enjoy Maui’s beauty."
