The final building on the Old Albuquerque High School campus is getting its long-awaited renovation.
Owner Ricardo Chaves is hoping he can complete the $5 million renovation of the three-story, 27,000-square-foot Manual Arts Building by Dec. 31. The basic plan is for a restaurant and 15 high-end apartments.
The project culminates a tumultuous 19-year effort on Chaves' part.
The four other original buildings on the Old Albuquerque High campus, as well as new infill buildings on adjacent vacant parcels, were redeveloped separately by Paradigm & Co. over the past 8 1/2 years. Paradigm completed the last of its new construction earlier this year."
