From the plaque: "The mural is is a result of Community Youth Mural Program. It was created and designed by artist Bernadette Vigil, along with five talented youths from the Santa Fe area; John Barreras, Rachel Lopez, Eric Lopez, Greg Sandoval, and Jennifer Vieira. The fresco depicts a symbolic display of northern New Mexico spiritual traditions_ Each youth chose a visual symbol of there own inner spiritual warrior. if The Penitentes and Pueblo Indian buffalo dancer represent .2 forms of spiritual expressions. The Eagle represents flying highest in both dreams - day and night - and is pulling up the veil of day to reveal the night. Dream. Archangel Michael depicts the battle with the fallen angel Lucifer in a classic struggle for good and evil. The Indian figure in the center stands as a central expression of the balance of mate and female, representing pure unconditional love within. On the left is the alert jaguar , who represents the patient hunter, in search of his own truth. The Y Symbol represents the healing power of.friendship. The flamed lore and sacred heart symbolize the Holy if the golden sun with radiating waves of is a symbol of the healing power within.
