The Newport Transporter Bridge is one of only three working suspension aerial ferries in the World. There are only eight of any type remaining, in total of which the Newport bridge has the largest span of over 600 feet (196.8m).
Essentially the bridge is an aerial ferry, capable of carrying up to six light road vehicles and 120 pedestrians, across the river Usk. It cost just a pound for a car each way, & free for pedestrians
The Coordinates were taken at the visitor centre on the western side of the bridge. (parking available for a few cars)
The opening times of the bridge vary, but can be found on the Newport City web site. :- (
