The timeline is housed in a steel lean-to structure beside a walking & cycling track. There are five other information displays beside it to inform the resident & traveller.

The timeline starts at 1844 when explorer Ludwig Leichhardt crossed & named Dogwood Creek (on which Miles stands) to the Railway being opened to Miles on 1 August 1878, to electricity in 1937, to 2006 when Mile's population was 1164 with other years & events in between.
