Das Ehrenmal wurde 1926 vom jüdischen Architekten Wilhelm Haller im Stil des Art déco entworfen und auf Initiative des Bundes jüdischer Frontsoldaten auf dem Alten israelitischen Friedhof in Leipzig errichtet.
Auf dem Denkmal sind die Namen von 121 jüdischen Kriegstoten des Ersten Weltkriegs verewigt. Zwei zu Fuße des Denkmals ruhende Löwen symbolisieren ihre Tapferkeit. Unter dem Giebel steht:

The monument was designed in 1926 by the Jewish architect Wilhelm Haller in the style of Art Déco, and erected on the 'Alten israelitischen Friedhof' in Leipzig on the initiative of the confederation of Jewish front soldiers.
On the monument are the names of 121 Jewish dead soldiers of the First World War. Two lions resting at the foot of the monument symbolize their bravery. Under the gable stands:
