St Paul is a community in east central Alberta: formerly called St. Paul des Métis and was originally a mission to the Metis people until 1909.

In 1967, a proposal was made to build the world's first UFO Landing Pad as a landmark for the town. The Government of Canada responded to this proposition and, during the grand opening on June 3 1967, St. Paul was declared the Centennial Capital of Canada.

In the 1990's Mayor Paul Langevin officially opened an adjacent UFO tourist information center to welcome visitors. As you enter St. Paul from the West, drop in to visit this landmark and see the UFO exhibit located downstairs. This is an opportunity to view actual photographs of UFOs, crop circles and cattle mutilations. The exhibit is designed to educate.

A UFO Hotline compliments the display with reports of UFO sightings and encounters of all kinds. 1-888-SEE-UFOS is provided for your convenience.

There is a sign beside the pad which reads: "The area under the World's First UFO Landing Pad was designated international by the Town of St. Paul as a symbol of our faith that mankind will maintain the outer universe free from national wars and strife. That future travel in space will be safe for all intergalactic beings, all visitors from earth or otherwise are welcome to this territory and to the Town of St. Paul."

Paul the Apostle is commonly known as Saint Paul, and also known by his native name Saul of Tarsus. He was an apostle, though not one of the Twelve Apostles, who taught the gospel of the Christ to the 1st-century world. Saint Paul is generally considered one of the most important figures of the Apostolic Age.
