Das Modell zeigt im Maßstab von ca. 1:500 große Teile der Stadt Bonn zu Ende der kurfürstlichen Zeit vor 1777. Die Stadt hatte damals etwa 10.000 Einwohner und war von Stadtmauern und Bastionen umgeben. Zu sehen sind neben Wohnhäusern auch bis heute existierende Gebäude und Denkmäler wie das
Bonner Münster, die
Namen-Jesu-Kirche, das
alte Rathaus, die heutige
Hauptpost oder die
Marktfontaine. Besonders auffällig ist das damalige
Kurfürstliche Schloss, das heutige
Universitätshauptgebäude, mit dem daran anschließenden
Hofgarten.

The model shows large parts of the city of Bonn at the end of the elector-time before 1777 in a scale of about 1:500. Then, the town had a population of about 10.000 people and was enclosed by walls and bastions. You can see not only residential houses, but also buildings and monuments that do exist still today like the
Bonner Münster, the
Namen-Jesu-Kirche, the
old town hall, the today's
main post office, or the
Marktfontaine. Especially noticeable is the at that time
electoral castle ("Kurfürstliches Schloss"), today's
university's main building, with the adjacent garden
Hofgarten.
