Bis zum Jahr 1861 stand die Plaidter Pfarrkirche auf diesem Platz, der daher den Namen "Alter Kirchplatz" trägt.

Der romanische Bau aus dem 11./12. Jahrhundert war Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts baufällig geworden und bot für die stetig wachsende Kirchengemeinde zu wenig Platz. So entschloss sich die Pfarrgemeinde unter Leitung von Pfarrer Johann Josef Retz, die alte Kirche abzureißen und eine neue in der Mühlenstraße zu bauen.

Die genaue Position der alten Kirche ist mit Messingplaketten im Süd-Osten des Dorfplatzes markiert. Sie stand dort auf einer kleinen Anhöhe, etwa auf den Niveau des Gasthauses Krone.

Das Gebäude selbst wurde samt Inventar versteigert und abgerissen. Teile des Gebäudes finden sich noch heute in Mauern und Gebäuden des Dorfkerns. Der Tuffhügel unter der Kirche bis hinein in "Marzis Loch" (Grube hinter der neuen Gemeindehalle) wurde anschließend ausgebeutet und der Erlös für den Neubau verwendet. Auf der Anhöhe hinter der Kirche war der mit einer Mauer eingefasste Friedhof. Er wurde 1859 geräumt und auf seinen jetzigen Platz "Auf'm Läusköpfchen" verlegt.

Die Säule, auf der das Modell ruht, stammt aus der alten Kirche. Sie wurde dem Plaidter Geschichtsverein von Wolfgang Bartz zur Verfügung gestellt.

Das moderne Modell und die Säule aus der alten Pfarrkirche schlagen einen historischen Bogen vom Mittelalter in das 21. Jahrhundert.

[EN] Model of the old Plaidter parish church

Until the year 1861 the Plaidter Pfarrkirche stood on this square, which is therefore called "Alter Kirchplatz".

The Romanesque building from the 11th / In the middle of the nineteenth century, the city had become dilapidated and offered too little space for the ever-growing church community. Thus, the parishioners, led by pastor Johann Josef Retz, decided to demolish the old church and build a new one in the Mühlenstraße.

The exact position of the old church is marked with brass plaques in the south-east of the village square. She stood there on a small hill, about the level of the inn crown.

The building itself was auctioned and demolished together with inventory. Parts of the building are still found today in the walls and buildings of the village core. The tuff hill under the church right up to "Marzis Loch" (pit behind the new municipal hall) was then exploited and the proceeds for the new building were used. On the top of the hill behind the church was the cemetery, surrounded by a wall. He was evacuated in 1859 and moved to his current place "Auf'm Läusköpfchen".

The column on which the model rests is from the old church. It was made available to Wolfgang Bartz, the plaid history association.

The modern model and the column from the old parish church suggest a historical arc from the Middle Ages to the 21st century.
