Victorian Neo-Gothic chimeras, while appropriate to the time of the erection of the walkway over the bath pool, are not exactly in tune with 1st century AD Roman architecture.
The chimeras are of both animals and human faces.
The statues of Roman Governors and Caesars around this level also date from the late 1890s.
