Contained on the Plat of Survey number R-18 for La Crosse County and the Village of Rockland, was the boundary for the newly proposed Gaylord Memorial Park. During this survey there was an iron bar set Garold A. Sime from H.A. Sime and Associates. This park has become the center meeting place for all things recreational for this community. The iron bar is now marked by a metal post and sticks up approximately 1 inch out of the ground. To get to it park at the park and walk on the park grounds. It's in the grass and the metal post marks it well.
