EN: This railway roundhouse with a turntable is located at the edge of the marshalling yard of Brig about 700 meters east of the passenger station. There is a public street next to the building. From there, you can only the rear, but the many large windows allow a good overview.
The roundhouse is semicircular and about 90 meters wide. The turntable has 18 track connections. Apparently, here are mainly older Re4/4 locomotives of SBB, which are mainly used for shunting and freight traffic today.
DE: Dieser Ringschuppen mit Drehscheibe befindet sich am Rand des Rangierbahnhofs von Brig etwa 700 Meter östlich der Passagierbahnhofs. Es führt eine öffentliche Strasse gleich neben dem Gebäude durch. Von da ist es zwar nur von hinten zu sehen, die vielen grossen Fenster erlauben aber eine gute Übersicht.
Der Schuppen ist halbkreisförmig und rund 90 Meter breit. Die Drehscheibe hat 18 Gleisanschlüsse. Offenbar sind hier vor allem ältere Re4/4-Lokomotiven der SBB abgestellt, die heute vorwiegend noch für Rangier- und Güterfahrten eingesetzt werden.
