An real Apollo test capsule & American Astronaut Wall of Fame are the highlights of the Astronaut Memorial Park in the Barringer Crater Visitor Center.

A boilerplate spacecraft, also known as a DemoSat or mass simulator, is a non functional craft or payload which is used to test various configurations and basic size, load, and handling characteristics of rocket launch vehicles.
BP-29 was used for up-righting drop tests at Downey, CA, Oct. 30, 1964.

The Barringer crater - Visitor Discovery Center is approx. 20 miles west of Winslow, Arizona. The Center is said to be the most extensive interactive display of meteor impact science of its type in the world.

The Crater Visitor Center is the viewing area, also featured in Virtual Globetrotting, to the best preserved meteorite impact site on the planet. The center also features an Astronaut Memorial Park. Located on the rim of the crater in Arizona.

"The site was formerly known as the Canyon Diablo Crater, and scientists generally refer to it as Barringer Crater in honor of Daniel Barringer who was first to suggest that it was produced by meteorite impact. The crater owners proclaim it to be "the first proven meteorite crater on earth.

Visitor Discovery Center includes guest controlled computer simulations, a meteorite fragment weighing over 1400 lbs.; artefacts from early exploration and scientific study of the crater; high-tech graphics of space, meteorites and asteroids, and the solar system; plus exhibits from Apollo astronaut training and asteroid collisions worldwide and on other planets.

Meteor Crater’s friendly and fascinating gift shop offers a wide variety of gift and souvenir items from fossils and dinosaurs to astronauts and spacecraft.

Focusing on the unique Meteor Crater experience, gifts and souvenirs include Native American and gem jewellery, authentic fossils, astronaut ice cream and mission patches, space toys, games, postcards, space and geology science kits, books, home decorations, and Meteor Crater t-shirts, sweatshirts and hats.
The Subway® sandwich shop restaurant in the Visitor Center offers lunch, snacks and soft drinks with indoor seating for the whole family." Text Source: (visit link) & (visit link)
