In 2014, the Landtag, the Parliament of the German State of Brandenburg moved into a new building. The new City Palace is a replica of the original palace that used to be in this location from 1751 until the bombing raids of World War II.

The city of Potsdam stresses the fact, that this is not a castle, but a modern building, combining a historical facade with a highly functional modern interior. However, the main impression left with visitors is that of the facade, replicating the original Rococo architecture.
