The stone wayside cross (with a religious interest) is located on the embankment of the Rhine in front of the wastewater treatment plant. The cross is called "Gensemer Kreuz", it dates from the year 1724. Originally the cross was located closer to the Rhine, at the garden of the landowner Franz Heinrich Jesef Mehlem. It was brought to the cemetery of Vilich in 1810 and it was brought back to its original place in 1824. During the construction of the flood dam the cross was transported to its present location.
