The courthouse was most likely a PWA project, as opposed to a WPA project, as the WPA, as I understand it, wasn't created until 1936.

Designed by Kalispell architect Fred Brinkman, the Lake County Courthouse is very much a typical New Deal building, understated Art Deco in style with a small amount of decorative artwork in the frieze. Build predominantly of brick with stone trim sprinkled about, this is a very solid and permanent looking structure. Two and a half story in height, the courthouse stands on a basement which is mostly above ground level.

Inside the main entrance is a plaque apprising all that the building was erected AD 1935 and was designed by Fred A. Brinkman. The Board of County Commissioners at the time consisted of G.A. Lensman, chairman, J.J. Rosenburger and L.J. Marion. The general contractor was A. R. Elliott and the plumbing and heating contractor was W C. Boettcher.
