In Plattsburgh, off Cumberland Avenue, is the Saranac River Pedestrian Bridge.
The bridge is located on the south side of the road, a little east of the Plattsburgh City Hall. From the great obelisk in front of city hall, walk east on the sidewalk a few hundred feet by the bridge to a place where you can safely descend the hill to a dirt path. Follow the path toward the bridge to the ramp and entrance to the bridge.
The bridge has two towers, one on each bank of the river. There are two cables between the towers and vertical cables drop from the two cables and connect to the bridge deck.
Bridgehunter.com has the following about the bridge:
"Design
Wire/cable suspension
Dimensions
Length of largest span: 200.0 ft.
Total length: 370.0 ft.
Deck width: 5.0 ft."
I couldn't find anything on the age of the bridge.
