After spending two and a half hours with these fire crews from 2 stations, I can say they live up to that motto well.
The Piedmont Park Fire District is a Special Purpose District that was formed in 1963. TThe department respond to medical calls, fire calls, HAZMAT responses, and technical rescue calls within their district and mutual aid calls to neighboring districts. Piedmont Park Fire District participates in the Greenville County Rapid Intervention Team agreement that allows for neighboring jurisdictions to request a full Engine Company to respond for the sole purpose of rescuing firefighters who have become lost, injured, or trapped inside a hazardous area (ex. house fire).
Piedmont Park Fire District is a career department. Calls for service are handled by our full time staff that operates out of two fire stations. The full time personnel work a 24/48 hour shift schedule. Full time staff respond to calls for service with the following: minimum 6 crew respond. The crew is supervised by the captain and with the lieutenant in the absence of the captain. The station has the following vehicles housed: Command vehicle, Engine 61 (see waymark WMT1GY) and Heavy Rescue truck.
