Since Rhineland does not have an internet footprint, and city hall was closed when I was last there, I have no details as to who plays here, how do you lease, who maintains it, etc.
"This ballfield is where the "downtown" of Rhineland once stood. IN 1993 the Great Flood, destroyed all commercial buildings. Some residential buildings in the valley were also destroyed.
"Most of Rhineland was moved to a bluff overlooking the old town site. Wehrle says he had his house moved uphill, as did several other residents, while some built new homes on the bluff. Some parts of Rhineland are still in the flood plain, including a ballpark, a few businesses and the Volunteer Fire Department." ~ History of the Great Flood 1993, damages to the N. Jefferson City Area.
The citizens moved the businesses up on a flat, slightly elevated piece of ground once occupied by the Katy Railroad (and was to be part of the Katy Trail).
When the Katy Trail (Missouri Department of Natural Resources) took over the rail ROW business in Rhineland were right on top of them. So the Katy Trail in Rhineland, wanders a circuitous route through the town area.
