Located in Plymouth Rock State Park, just a short distance from the famous rock itself, sits this statue of William Bradford.
William Bradford, one of the Mayflower Pilgrims, became leader of the Plymouth Colony when the original leader, John Carver, died during the first winter in Plymouth. Bradford was a signer (and primary architect) of the Mayflower Compact. He became Governor of Plymouth Colony, and is credited with what is considered to the first Thanksgiving.
