Jocie Middleton's headstone is a traditional tree stump. Her full name was Sofronia Jocie Davis Middleton. This is a slightly squared stump which sits on four horizontal logs. Calla lilies are engraved at the bottom.

At the top, under the words IN MEMORIAM is the shield of the Women's Circle with its 13 stars and crossed implements. Beneath this is a ribbon and bow with the words Women Circle.
