"Das Bauwerk wurde von der Berlin-Potsdam-Magdeburger Eisenbahngesellschaft in den Jahren 1846/47 im Rahmen des Baus der Eisenbahnstrecke Potsdam–Magdeburg errichtet. Nach der Inbetriebnahme des Magdeburger Hauptbahnhofs im Jahr 1873 wurde sie Teil der Bahnstrecke Biederitz–Magdeburg-Buckau. Einen durchgehenden Zugverkehr gab es auf der Brücke erst ab dem 19. August 1848. Die 220 m lange Brücke, auch Buckauer-Eisenbahnbrücke genannt, überspannt 200 m südlich des Domfelsens in einem Winkel von 62° die Stromelbe."

The building was erected by the Berlin-Potsdam-Magdeburg railway company in the years 1846-47 in the context of the construction of the railway line Potsdam-Magdeburg.
