Mr. Farmer's star is located on the east side of N Main St, in front of Cattlemen's Steak House, and it says:

Texas Trail of Fame
James D. Farmer
Cattleman
Fort Worth Stockyards

The Texas Trail of Fame website (see link) has a poor quality photo of Mr. Farmer in it -- a better one is here -- as well as this short biography:

James D. Farmer had just one interest: selling cattle. He entered the cattle business in Tarrant County when he established the Hoxie Pacing House, a forerunner of the giant Swift and Armour packing houses in the Stockyards.

He organized the Fort Worth Live Stock Commission Co., the first firm organized strictly for buying and selling cattle in the Fort Worth Market. He later branched out and organized the Rhome-Farmer Live Stock Commission Co. A democrat, Farmer was elected as the first mayor of North Fort Worth, serving two terms before the town merged with the larger Fort Worth.

About the Texas Trail of Fame: (visit link)

The Texas Trail of Fame was established in 1997 to honor those who have made a significant contribution to our Western way of life. Throughout the walkways of the Fort Worth National Historic District, bronze inlaid markers have been placed in honor of their achievements. The desire of the Texas Trail of Fame is to inspire and educate visitors through the adventure of reflecting on these Westerner’s accomplishments. Trail Guides are available at the Stockyards Visitor's information Center. So come on out to the Fort Worth Stockyards, grab a guide, and hit the trail!
