In Acton, within the Acton Arboretum, are two dawn redwood trees from China.
The Acton Arboretum is located off Mass. Route 27, about 1/2 mile north of Mass. Route 2 and south of the center of Action. A sign is located at the corner Taylor Street. Turn onto this road and go south a short distance until you arrive at the parking lot to the left.
The two redwoods are located north of the parking lot, along the Wildflower Loop. The dawn redwoods are medium sized trees. There is a tag with hand written letters indicating that the tree is a Metasequoia glyptostroboides or Dawn Redwood, which is native to central China.
I couldn't find anything more about the trees, including when they were acquired, the height, etc.
