TAMU.edu WebsiteThe rusted steel beam stands upright amid a stylized design of one of the airplanes that toppled the buildings, and is elegantly surrounded by bent concrete columns that resemble the fallen towers in two footprints — one black, one white. A banked and curved path leads to the monument through and array of bushes, suggesting a plane flight from which there is no escape.

Texas A&M architecture professor Taeg Nishimoto led the design process creating a memorial.

Date of Dedication: 05/31/2005

Name of organization that built the memorial: Cities of Bryan, College Station and Brazos County Commissioners Court

Text on the memorial:
War on Terror Memorial The Brazos Valley Veterans War of Terror Memorial is composed of a steel relic from the World Trade Center Towers in New York City that was struck by enemies of the United States of America on September 11, 2001. The tortured steel stands alone among prostrate concrete columns that symbolize the destruction of those two magnificent structures and the lives of over 3,000 innocent people. The steel relic was brought to Texas by members of Texas Task Force I, the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum, and the Arts Council of Brazos Valley. The Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial is privileged to make it a part of America's only memorial for all veterans fo the United States. The War on Terror Memorial was dedicated on May 30, 2006.
