Peck's Point, 2013 Eagle Scout project of Kheagyn Gritten. It's a scenic overlook, on a cliff above the Middle Fork River at Kickapoo State Recreation Area near Oakwood, IL. Consists of steps from the Riverview Trail to the overlook itself, a plaque telling the story of the namesake (Peck Lomax ran the bait shop at the park for 44 years), and a memorial bench with a clear view of the river. In addition to the hard work involved, there would have been a certain degree of danger, as this is on a very high, steep cliff dropping straight down to the rocks along the river.
Riverview trail is a two-mile trail at Kickapoo, and this overlook provides the best view of the river.
