Nevada County pilots support an elementary school program at various levels on announced days. Just reading and seeing the Static F104 is an experience. Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier and a model of that plane is here with informational plaques.
The tradition of tacking a t-shirt to the ceiling upon one's first solo flight continues.
There are several interesting models. One or two are radio controlled.

Built in 1933 by Errol Mcboyle, owner of Idaho Maroand Mines corporation
to fly gold to San Francisco. The land was gifted to Nevada county in 1957 by Charles Litton. 1995 brought $5 million invested in improvements.
