Many years ago, when the Village of Orient felt it had become necessary to develop a local weather station to keep the locals (and non locals, for that matter) apprised of local weather conditions, fundraising and planning were gotten underway forthwith. While a fundraising committee got to work beating the bushes far and wide in an attempt to unearth funding for the project, another committee got started on grandiose plans for their weather station.
It transpired soon enough that the former committee was falling woefully short of their lofty goal, resulting in the latter committee's having to revise their plans again and again, each time cutting costs and slightly reducing their weather station's capabilities.
After many more months of fruitless fundraising and drastic cost cutting, the village finally had a detailed set of plans which would, if not meet all the original criteria for the weather station, meet their final
budget of $11.85.
Below are the detailed instructions for the use of the station.
